Cancer Portrait Project
Cancer Portrait Project - Call For Subjects
I am putting together a portrait project focused on sharing the stories of cancer patients.
I want to hear about your experience with cancer, and I want to hear from everybody. It doesn't matter your age, whether you're receiving treatment now or had it 10 years, if it's touched your life, I want to hear from you.
I want to know hear how it felt to lay on a table for hours, receiving radiation treatment. I want to hear about when you were diagnosed and when you found out you were in remission. I want to know what it was like to go through your daily routine on chemo, and the monotony of hospital waiting rooms. Its your story to tell, and I want to hear every part that you're willing to share.
For this project, I want to show a more comprehensive picture of life with cancer.
I've been involved in cancer research since 2011, starting with the projects at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Research Institute in Australia, and this current project is something I'm passionate about.
Portraits and interviews will take place in the SF Bay Area. You don’t need to be live in the Bay Area to take part in this project, but you will need to be able to make your way out here for the photos.
***ALSO!*** If you want to share your story but wish to remain anonymous, and are willing to let me photograph you in a way that conceals your identity, I would love to have you.
WHAT I WOULD LOVE:
If you have personal stories about living with cancer, please consider being in this project! I know being photographed is weird and scary but I will make you look good, I swear. Just fill out the form below.
Please nominate someone you know — or really as many people as you’d like — to be involved in this project. Forward this page to them and if they’re interested, please have them fill out the form below.
I’ll be in touch from there.
Please share this far and wide to your friends and colleagues — the more people this reaches, the better it will be.
